We stayed at the Royal Atlantis Icon Hotel (Side) starting July 17, 2026. We booked the “All-Inclusive Plus” package, expecting great service, but ended up with eight days of nonstop stress and disappointment. The hotel management couldn’t care less about the guests, and their promises are worthless. Here’s a detailed timeline of our nightmare: Deception at check-in and a terrible room: We booked two identical rooms (each was supposed to have one double bed and one single bed). We arrived late, around midnight. One room was fine, but the second was a dirty room for people with disabilities! The toilet hadn’t been cleaned, and the minibar was completely empty. There wasn’t a single shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on, and the mirror hung at knee level—making it impossible to use. At the same time, the front desk staff were foaming at the mouth trying to convince us that this room was “the same class” as the one we’d paid for! A hungry night on the “all-inclusive plus” plan: Since we arrived at midnight, we and our children were very hungry. We went looking for food, since the hotel advertised 24-hour premium-class dining. In reality, there was nothing to eat except stale, cold fast food. Empty promises from management: They refused to change our room that night, stating, “There are no vacancies; just stay in the room you were given.” In the morning, we went to sort things out with Guest Relations. There, they fawned over us, apologized, and solemnly promised to provide a nice gift from the hotel for the inconvenience caused. Spoiler: we never saw this “gift” until the very day we checked out. Our 9-year-old daughter’s ruined birthday: This is the hotel’s greatest disgrace. We checked in on July 17, and on July 19, our daughter turned 9. Her godmother and her family had flown in specifically to this hotel for the celebration! On July 18, I went to Guest Relations to find out the price and order a birthday cake. The employee smiled sweetly and said: “Since you experienced some inconvenience with your room, the hotel will provide the cake for free as an apology.” We were delighted, but it was all for nothing. On the evening of her birthday, instead of the promised cake, they brought my daughter a plain, dry piece of cake—the kind they give out for free at breakfast! My child was upset, and we were embarrassed in front of our guests. Why make a promise only to act so despicably? Terrible food and a disastrous à la carte restaurant: The main restaurant is boring and has a very limited selection; the food was frankly “just so-so.” But the real shock was the à la carte restaurant. It’s just awful! There was absolutely no choice; we left there hungry. And it wasn’t just us—at 90% of the neighboring tables, people were sitting with the same bewildered expressions, disgusted by the “service.” Absolute unsanitary conditions: During ALL EIGHT DAYS of our stay, the bed linens and towels in our rooms were never (!) changed. The maids just came in to take out the trash. They proudly claim to be a five-star hotel, but in reality, it’s on par with a filthy hostel. The result of our vacation: In the first two days, we experienced so many negative emotions that our entire vacation was irrevocably ruined. The staff at Royal Atlantis Icon just talk a big game, make false promises, and wait for guests to leave. They couldn’t care less about their guests. Give this hotel a wide berth if you don’t want to ruin your vacation and family getaway!
