Курортный дом Шопен входит в комплекс Военного санатория Карловы Вары и находится недалеко от леса, в тихом месте, вблизи православной церкви. Здание было построено в конце 19-го века в новом городском районе Вестэнд. В 1895 году вилла получила название «Вилла Шопен» и была передана в распоряжение тогдашнего мэра города Карловы Вары. В архитектуре здания проявляется увлечение средневековой архитектурой, о чем свидетельствуют, например, башни со стрельчатыми крышами, зубцами или каркасными стенами.
