We gave 1 star only because of the good location. There are no other advantages — only disadvantages.

We were looking for a good hotel to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and since it was our first time in Prague, we dreamed of staying in the very best place. We booked a room in this hotel 3 months before New Year and paid €617.96 for 4 nights.

During our 4-day stay, the bed linen was never changed. Not only was it not changed, it wasn’t even shaken out — the bed was simply made over. All the hair and crumbs remained exactly where they were.

For them, “cleaning” means just making the bed and placing towels.

In addition, the room had no carpet, only tiles like in a cheap cafeteria, and there was not a single wet cleaning during the entire stay. As a result, all the dirt and debris were constantly transferred onto the bed.

The room was very dirty. Old paintings were covered with a thick layer of dust, and spiders literally came down from the ceiling while we were watching TV.

And the TV… there was a mirror behind it. It is unclear why the mirror was hidden there, but because of the TV placement, it was impossible to use it.

At the entrance to the hotel, there was a very strong smell of glue, so intense that it was impossible to breathe. We felt like cockroaches being poisoned.

There is only one elevator for the entire hotel, shared by both guests and staff, including cleaning carts with mops and buckets.

For a 4-star hotel, this is unacceptable. We travel a lot, and this is the first time we have experienced something like this.

We also checked the prices: one day before departure it was €218, and after we returned home, the price dropped to €87.

The real value of such dirty rooms, without proper cleaning and with tiled floors — so dirty that even dogs wouldn’t feel comfortable — is about €40, but definitely not €150 or more.

Apart from frustration, there were no other emotions.

While walking around the area near the Christmas markets, we saw many other hotels that were much nicer and more affordable.

The hotel’s rating on Booking is overrated!

If anyone wants to stay comfortably in Prague, we do NOT recommend this hotel.
