GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Alisaxni : alisaxni the (noun) [etymology: <+ als caster]. The friable salt layer minutes left in the grooves of the rocks when the sea water is evaporated. This word is a compound word and derives from the ancient Greek word “als” which means salt and the ancient word “achni” which means spume-caster. The ancient expression “alos achni” can easily be found in the Odyssey texts but also to the Iliad by Homer.
Alisaxni Resort is located in Faros (Lighthouse) in Akrotiri area and is built according to the Cycladic architecture.
The resort is a “familymatter” business which offers you comfortable and resting holidays. We promise you a pleasant and unforgettable stay in the island of Santorini.
Alisaxni Resort has two main buildings where both are surrounded by a beautiful large garden.
The hotel offers you 5 bedrooms and 2 flats. All the rooms have an excellent view to the famous Caldera.
Around the Resort you can find taverns and mini market where easily can be reached on foot. In the centre of the village, five minutes by car, you may find lots of taverns, restaurants, coffee shops and minimarkets.
You can take beautiful pictures from your own balcony in the resort, but also from the historical lighthouse“Faros” where you can admire the wonderful famous Santorini sunset, the Caldera, the black beach and also the famous Indian who is illustrated on the rock of the black mountain.
The owners of the hotel are always willing and ready to help you choose the best beach, guide you for choosing the finest place for you to eat or have a coffee, rent a car for a tour to the volcano or a trip toThirassia, known as the “sister” of Santorini.
