Casa di Verde is a contemporary sleek 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa sleeping up to 6 persons and is nestled privately in the village of Patelari in western Crete. With verdant surroundings of olive and fruit trees you can relax in the peace and quiet of this small typically Greek village where there is a supermarket and local life centres round the village café neon, a typical local Greek café just a stones throw away from the villa where you can sit and enjoy a drink or two in the company of locals. However, you have the best of both worlds as the villa is not far from the popular resorts of Gerani and busier Platanias.

CASA DI VERDE LOCATION

The centre of the bustling resort of Platanias is 4.5km away and is really the hub of life west of Chania city. Here youll find an excellent choice of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, and nightlife, plus there are childrens parks and so much more. The charming 'old' village sits on the top of a hill offering stunning views of the area. A small port interrupts the long sandy beach which is mostly organised and has many beach bars and some water sports. For several years Platanias has also been the proud recipient of the EU Blue Flag award. If you prefer something a bit quieter then lesser developed Gerani is the next resort west of Platanias and is also 4.5km away.

Chania, the capital city of the region is 15km away and is a 'must' see for any visitor to western Crete. It is a busy town with a cosmopolitan atmosphere and the Venetian harbour is a sight to behold with little fishing boats bobbing up and down on the water in the eastern side, while the waterfront on the western side has an abundance of cafes and restaurants ranging from local to chic. Narrow, picturesque and characteristic streets with a splendid array of shops, boutiques, small cafes and tavernas lead off behind the waterfront. Theotokopoulou St. is one not to be missed with its characteristic Venetian buildings and ornate balconies.

There is easy access to the national road which makes the location an excellent starting point for further exploration of western Crete as you drive through stunning scenery and head towards the mountains, or perhaps drive to some of the wonderful more well-known sandy beaches such as Falassarna or Elafonissi on the west coast. The area lends itself to archaeological interest, walking and cycling, or perhaps you just want to laze away the days by the villas relaxing pool.

The stylish two storey measures 220m² and the design is contemporary, the architectural highlight being the glass atrium which makes it light and airy. The minimalist interior design is attractive where splashes of colour accentuate the grey/white colour palette. Touches of home comfort include bathrobes & slippers as well as luxury bathroom amenities.

The spacious ground floor houses a modern open plan kitchen/dining area and two lounge areas as well as a WC. The kitchen is equipped with a 4 plate ceramic hob and oven, coffee machine, juicer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and utensils as well as a breakfast bar. One of the lounges has a fireplace, sofa, coffee table, a dresser, a couple of stools, and an easy chair, and the other has a large corner settee, TV, DVD, CD player and a coffee table.

A floating staircase leads to the upper level to the three comfortable bedrooms. There is a furnished terrace with views of the village and the surrounding countryside and this can be accessed from the either the corridor or the master bedroom that has a queen size bed and an en suite with Jacuzzi bath and a washing machine. One of the other two bedrooms has twin beds (that can be put together to make a king size bad) and the other has a queen size bed. They share a bathroom with a shower. All bedrooms have air conditioning, a TV, and fitted wardrobes. There is also a telescope should you wish to do a bit of star-gazing!

Glass doors open to the pool/garden/lawn areas with sun loungers shaded by orange trees. The pool (50m²/depth 1-1.3mt) has walk-in steps and poolside built-in seating. A covered terrace with an elegant table and chairs is perfect for al-fresco dining, especially as there is also a built-in brick BBQ and oven. For fitness enthusiasts the garden also houses a mini gym.

Please note that due to some open railings and the floating staircase with no protection on one side this property is only suitable for children over 8yrs. Vertigo sufferers may not be comfortable also.
